"Not called!'" did you say? "Not heard the call," I think you should say. Put your ear down to the Bible, and hear Him bid you go and pull sinners out of the fire of sin. Put your ear down to the burdened, agonized heart of humanity, and listen to its pitiful wail for help.

Go stand by the gates of hell, and hear the damned entreat you to go to their father's house and bid their brothers and sisters and servants and masters not to come there.

Then look Christ in the face ~whose mercy you have professed to obey ~ and tell Him whether you will join heart and soul and body and circumstances in the march to publish His mercy to the world.

~fabian & marvin

One of the first children I met in Pampay four years ago was Fabian. He would have been 2 or 3 years old. Each year, he wins the prize for the best smile. He is so full of energy and joy. After seeing a picture of him from my first trip, my dear friend fell in love with him. As it would turn out, she and her family ended up sponsoring his brother Marvin.

For the past three years I have been able to sit back and watch Marvin grow. I have had the priviledge of bringing Marvin his gifts from his sponsors back home. After opening his gifts, Marvin threw his arms around my neck, asking me to bring this thanks back home. I won't soon forget the feeling of his arms around me, and only hope that I can adequately replicate it when I return home.

Marvin quickly packed up his bag (which was bigger than he was), threw it on his back, and ran home to safely store his new stash. So precious.
