"Not called!'" did you say? "Not heard the call," I think you should say. Put your ear down to the Bible, and hear Him bid you go and pull sinners out of the fire of sin. Put your ear down to the burdened, agonized heart of humanity, and listen to its pitiful wail for help.

Go stand by the gates of hell, and hear the damned entreat you to go to their father's house and bid their brothers and sisters and servants and masters not to come there.

Then look Christ in the face ~whose mercy you have professed to obey ~ and tell Him whether you will join heart and soul and body and circumstances in the march to publish His mercy to the world.

~take off your shoes

Puerto los zapatos... take off your shoes.

Monday and Tuesday afternoon were spent doing "physicals" on the 34 sponsor kids in Pampay. It was great to get to see and chat with each and every one of these beautiful children. Our physicals consisted of heights, weights (hence the learning to say take off your shoes in Spanish), and checking their eye sight.

As the children took their shoes off, I was once again reminded of how blessed and fortunate we are in Canada. As the children took off their shoes, I was reminded of the beautiful act of love that Jesus performed when he washed the feet of His disciples the night before passover.
