"Not called!'" did you say? "Not heard the call," I think you should say. Put your ear down to the Bible, and hear Him bid you go and pull sinners out of the fire of sin. Put your ear down to the burdened, agonized heart of humanity, and listen to its pitiful wail for help.

Go stand by the gates of hell, and hear the damned entreat you to go to their father's house and bid their brothers and sisters and servants and masters not to come there.

Then look Christ in the face ~whose mercy you have professed to obey ~ and tell Him whether you will join heart and soul and body and circumstances in the march to publish His mercy to the world.

~christmas in july

Yesterday we had the incredible opportunity to hand deliver gifts to the children of Parramos and Pampay from their sponsors back home. Imagine sitting in a room full of kids whose faces light up when you give them a simple sticker... imagine the excited anticipation on their faces as they wait to receive their gift.

I had the privilege of being part of meeting the sponsored children of two of my dearest friends in Pampay. Marvins smile could not have been any bigger if he tried! He and his little brother famous Fabian are always two of the first kids to greet us each day. Their faces are unforgettable! He pulled out each item with such great joy and pride, wanting to savour each gift, but eager to see what else was in his Cars backpack. I am most certain that we will see him in one of his new t-shirts today.

Ana is a quiet, shy, beautiful girl. As she carefully removed each item from her bag, she tried to teach me the Spanish word for it. (I forget them all except stickers and ball). Earlier in the week, I had the chance to visit her home while performing one of our Medical Home Visits. Her home was the first home I entered last July. It is a home I will never forget!

After our day in Pampay, we travelled back to Parramos where I got to see my own sponsor child, Lidia, who I met this time last year. It was SO GREAT. I savored every minute with her.... playing, hugging, smiling, laughing, and taking pictures. She is a beautiful, sweet girl, who I pray will grow to love and serve our Lord.
