"Not called!'" did you say? "Not heard the call," I think you should say. Put your ear down to the Bible, and hear Him bid you go and pull sinners out of the fire of sin. Put your ear down to the burdened, agonized heart of humanity, and listen to its pitiful wail for help.

Go stand by the gates of hell, and hear the damned entreat you to go to their father's house and bid their brothers and sisters and servants and masters not to come there.

Then look Christ in the face ~whose mercy you have professed to obey ~ and tell Him whether you will join heart and soul and body and circumstances in the march to publish His mercy to the world.

~communion~

One of the highlights from last years trip, was the church service we attended Sunday morning. This year was no different. Words cannot express the incredible sense of Gods greatness when you are sitting in a church, miles away from home, with people who don't speak your language, worshiping God together. One body under Christ. We sang our songs of praise together. We heard, read, and learned from Gods Word together. And we broke bread together, remembering the event that brings us all together ~ Christ's death and resurrection.

We had the opportunity to break bread again this evening. Joining together with Arms of Jesus, we prepared a special outreach directed at the men of Pampay. In the pouring rain, we raised a tarp for shelter, played a game of soccer, and presented the Gospel to them. We ended our evening serving the men (and some of their families) dinner prepared by the woman of Pampay, and we sat with them and ate together. I think what really softened the hearts of the these strong proud men was the gift presented to them: A rain poncho - symbolizing being sheltered by God; a machete - symbolizing Gods Word, sharper than a double edged sword; and a knife sharpener - as iron sharpens iron.

"This is my body broken for you. Do this, whenever you eat it, to remember Me." These were two meals I won't soon forget.
