"Not called!'" did you say? "Not heard the call," I think you should say. Put your ear down to the Bible, and hear Him bid you go and pull sinners out of the fire of sin. Put your ear down to the burdened, agonized heart of humanity, and listen to its pitiful wail for help.

Go stand by the gates of hell, and hear the damned entreat you to go to their father's house and bid their brothers and sisters and servants and masters not to come there.

Then look Christ in the face ~whose mercy you have professed to obey ~ and tell Him whether you will join heart and soul and body and circumstances in the march to publish His mercy to the world.

~marvin & kevin

One of the greatest privileges of being here in Guatemala is having the opportunity not only to see my own sponsor kiddies, but to spend time with some of my dearest friends kiddies as well.

The other day I had the chance to give one precious boy, Marvin, his gift. His eyes lit up with everything he pulled out of the bag. His sponsor brother had packed up some of his old cars and trucks to pass along to Marvin and his family. And wow... did Marvin ever love it! He proudly donned his new Perry the Platypus shirt, and gave me the double thumbs up for a picture. We then recorded a message, thanking his sponsors back in Canada. Um, tear jerker! Each time he looked away to compose himself after his eyes filled with tears, I lost it. I cannot even begin to describe how thankful these children are for the small tokens of love that fill a back pack. So precious.

Every time Kevin sees me, he runs up to me and gives me the biggest hug ever. I cannot wait to bring these hugs back to Canada. Kevin also had a bag of cars/trucks that were handed down from his sponsor brother. Today, one of those cars made it to school with him, and I got to spend recess playing cars. Think about it... playing cars with a boy in Guatemala... with cars that once belonged to his sponsor brother, my "nephew", back in Canada. Crazy cool.
