"Not called!'" did you say? "Not heard the call," I think you should say. Put your ear down to the Bible, and hear Him bid you go and pull sinners out of the fire of sin. Put your ear down to the burdened, agonized heart of humanity, and listen to its pitiful wail for help.

Go stand by the gates of hell, and hear the damned entreat you to go to their father's house and bid their brothers and sisters and servants and masters not to come there.

Then look Christ in the face ~whose mercy you have professed to obey ~ and tell Him whether you will join heart and soul and body and circumstances in the march to publish His mercy to the world.

~letters~

About a week ago, I had an amazing experience. In order to help with the financial aspect of this Missions Trip, I wrote the customary support letter. Writing the letter was the easy part. It was easy to share my heart and ask for prayer from dear friends. It was the sending of the letters that was difficult.... or so I thought.

In my preparation, I had read somewhere about praying for the people you were sending support letters to. My initial thought was... why? But as I sat at my dining room table stuffing envelopes, I decided to follow those words of advice, and pray. What an amazing experience.

Each person that was to receive a letter is special to me in some way... friends, family, co-workers. Each person is on their own spiritual journey. Some have at some point in my life helped me along mine, while some have not yet received that wonderful gift of salvation. It was an opportunity that allowed me to pray specifically for the needs of each and every person I was asking to support me. It was something I had never experienced before. I found myself praying not only for the "regulars" on my prayer list, but also for people I had not really thought to pray for before.

I was reminded that while the financial support is important, the prayer support is essential! I am so thankful for team of bruised knee sisters (and brothers!) who are standing behind me in prayer.
