"Not called!'" did you say? "Not heard the call," I think you should say. Put your ear down to the Bible, and hear Him bid you go and pull sinners out of the fire of sin. Put your ear down to the burdened, agonized heart of humanity, and listen to its pitiful wail for help.

Go stand by the gates of hell, and hear the damned entreat you to go to their father's house and bid their brothers and sisters and servants and masters not to come there.

Then look Christ in the face ~whose mercy you have professed to obey ~ and tell Him whether you will join heart and soul and body and circumstances in the march to publish His mercy to the world.

~i miss it

While in Guatemala, I friend and I were chatting about what it is that makes Guatemala so wonderful. Is it the work? The more simple lifestyle? Being surrounded by beautiful Guatemalan people? Being hugged constantly by the children? Spending quality time with team mates / dear friends? Being in an environment that is focused on God? Having the time in your day to spend with Him? Yes!

I miss it. I think we all miss it!

I miss seeing the kids every day. As much as we are there loving on them, there is nothing that can brighten my day than a good hug... and our days were filled with great hugs from precious children! They blessed us more than they know!

I miss our mornings on the rooftop... surrounded by mountains / volcanoes... singing praise to God.

I miss the smells. When I gave my friend the gift that I brought back from her sponsor child, I just sat there and soaked in that wonderful, familiar Guatemala smell.

I miss Spanglish church.

I miss before bed chats with dear friends... just being able to laugh, cry, share, and just be real.

I miss bedtime laughter.
